Event Description

 

The Raceway Days All Ages Amateur Singing Competition is happening Thursday, July 16, celebrating talent across all genres in a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere.

 

Held at the Veterans’ Convention Centre at Credit Union Place, this year’s competition invites singers of all styles to take the stage and share their voice.

Participants will compete in two age categories:

• Ages 8–17

• Ages 18 and over

 

Selected performers will have the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of a live audience, all for a chance to take home exciting prize money.

 

Contestants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served registration basis. All registrations must be submitted through the online registration form below.

Contestants are given the choice to accompany their singing with an instrument, or can bring music on a USB (file format). If you are using your phone, you will need to bring along a dongle that is compatible with your phone and can fit a 1/8th (3.5 mm) jack.

 

Rules

The rules are few and drawn up to give the best possible experience to both the contestants and the audience: 

• Cannot be a professional singer. Professional singer defined as earning one’s primary income through performance or having professionally recorded and released one’s music.

• There are two age categories: Ages 18 and over and Ages 8 -17

• Single performers only. May accompany oneself with an instrument or provide recorded music. Profession sound service provided. A full piano keyboard will be onstage.

• List two songs on the entry form. One to sing in the initial competition, with the second to be performed if the contestant is selected as one of the finalists. Songs must be under four minutes and be appropriate for a family audience.
  
  Process:

• Those registered and confirmed for the competition must sign in at the registration table between 4:30 and 5:30 pm. If using recorded music it must be given over at that time. Please have it clearly marked in an envelope with contestant name and phone number. Through a draw, a performance number will be assigned during registration.

• Competition starts at 6 pm.

• Each age category has a maximum of 12 participants each. 

• Ages 8 -17 category will go first, and the Ages 18 and over category will follow. 

• Participants will sing one song.

• Judges will select five finalists.

• Each finalists will sing the second song they listed on the entry form.

• From the five finalists the judges will select the three top winners.

• The decision of the panel of three judges is final.

Contestants must abide by contest rules or face possible disqualification.

Registration will open on this page on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 9 am.

The first completed 12 registrations in each age category (that adhere to the conditions of the competition) will be entered into the competition.
